Terms of Use

Last updated: [DATE]. By using halalscanner.au you agree to these terms. The service is operated by [COMPANY PTY LTD], ABN [ABN].

What Halal Scanner is — and is not

Halal Scanner is an independent information service. It uses artificial intelligence to analyse the printed ingredients list of a product and provide a general indication — halal, haram, or doubtful — with reasoning. It is not a halal certification, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any Islamic or halal certification organisation, scholar, or authority.

Limits you should understand

Results are generated by AI from the label alone and may contain errors, including misreading text or misjudging an ingredient's source. An ingredients list cannot reveal undeclared processing aids, cross-contamination, slaughter methods, or sources the manufacturer has not stated. Standards also differ between certification bodies and schools of thought. For any ingredient marked doubtful — and for anything that matters to you — verify with the manufacturer or look for a recognised certification mark. Your dietary decisions remain your own responsibility.

Acceptable use

The service is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to abuse, overload, scrape, or attempt to circumvent usage limits or interfere with the service's operation.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, including the Australian Consumer Law, the service is provided "as is" and we exclude liability for loss arising from reliance on results. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and contact

We may update the service and these terms from time to time; continued use means acceptance of the current terms. Questions: [EMAIL].

Template notice for the site owner: replace the bracketed placeholders and have these terms reviewed by an Australian lawyer before launch — particularly the liability section. Remove this box afterwards.
